Get to know me
Hi, I’m Megan
I grew up in Shropshire and lived there until I went to University in Liverpool. I studied law and although I enjoyed it, I was pretty sure being a lawyer wasn’t for me.
After leaving university I wasn’t focused on a career straight away as my love for travel prevailed, I just wanted to see the world! In 2014 I took me and my backpack and covered two continents. I thought that would “get the travel bug out of me”, but it only ignited the fire!
After my big trip, I worked mainly in customer service roles and banking, but would quit as soon as I had enough money to travel again. Every time I came back to the UK, I had to find another job and save up again … I knew there had to be another way, but still didn’t think I could ever run my own business.
In 2015 I moved to Manchester and started managing a coworking space, working with startup’s and small to medium sized businesses. I was promoted to run one of their larger offices in London, so I moved down south!

In April 2018 I was running a coworking space in London and realised I hated working for other people! I quit my job, moved back to Manchester and decided to become a VA with no real plan of how run a business. But within 4 weeks I had 5 clients and within 6 months I hired my first associate. I was running my very own highly successful business and felt very proud, but I knew I wanted more and then I heard of an OBM …
OBM to …
After a year of running my VA business, I realised that admin just wasn’t my bag, I could do it, but I didn’t enjoy it (and that’s not what running your own business is about!). I had already been working with my clients in more of a marketing and managerial role – running their teams, project managing launches, building their websites. So I transitioned into an OBM and hired another associate to fill any of my VA tasks.
VA Mentor
After hiring a number of associates in my own business and showing them how to set up for themselves, I realised I got a lot of happiness through teaching others and seeing them build their own successful business. So I decided to start sharing my wisdom to the world … and here we are! I still run my OBM business too, but now spend a lot of my time showing aspiring and already established VAs how to upskill and build the business of their dreams.
My Vision
My vision for Explore Virtual is to build a business that focuses solely on helping Virtual Assistants achieve their goals. I love watching others thrive and want to pass on my passion and knowledge to as many people as I can.
My Mission
My mission is to work together with as many aspiring and already established VAs as possible to help you build the business of your dreams like I did. Everyone has their own why and their own vision, I want to bring out all your unique qualities and empower you to shine like I know you can!
